The Digital Skills Cadetship Program is delivered in partnership with MEGT, The Institute of Applied Technology – Digital, Women in Technology and Prodigy Learning. The Program is supported by Microsoft and funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.  The program uses innovative training approaches to provide alternative pathways to digital careers for women, blending formal training with on-the-job learning and mentoring.

Your Team of Allies:


Kelly Wilkes grew up in Perth, WA and had the luxury of a free-range childhood, moving to Sydney in her teenage years and travelling extensively in her youth. A highly motivated individual, with strong leadership and management capabilities and an excellent track record of delivering results. She has extensive experience working with high profile organisations, industry partners and building strong relationships that enable business. She is a leader that understands business is still about people, leveraging her skills in strategic leadership and extensive international experience cross culturally from her work in Sri Lanka, The United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa and the United States to enable and develop those around her.  Throughout her career Kelly been instrumental in the establishment and implementation of growth and transformation strategies for start-up, established organisations, and integration of new acquisitions. She is passionate about using what she has learnt from her diverse roles to unlock the potential of humans and technology.


Fiona Pearman is Co-founder of Quantum Impact Group and co-author of Core Confidence. Fiona’s work is primarily focused on empowering women to be catalysts of change and supporting organisations to build their pipeline of female talent. The research demonstrates that gender-balanced workplaces improve profitability, innovation and diversity – so more women at the top benefits everyone! With a background in brand strategy, culture and leadership, Fiona has seen first-hand the opportunities that can be harnessed when organisations shift the systemic and structural barriers that impede gender equity.


Lynore Close currently works at Flight Centre as a Security Analyst and is a seasoned Cybersecurity professional with extensive experience across various industries, delivering key projects that enhance security and mitigate risk. With 8 years experience, Lynore possesses a diverse set of skills that enable them to adapt to any industry and its unique security challenges. As the first Indigenous ICT Traineeship graduate in South Australia, Lynore is a passionate advocate for women especially other First Nations women, to explore a career in IT.

Lynore regularly speaks at industry events and mentors aspiring female cybersecurity professionals, sharing her knowledge and experience to help them achieve their goals. She also works to create inclusive environments in their workplaces and communities, fostering a sense of belonging and support.  She believes that diversity in cybersecurity is essential to driving innovation and staying ahead of evolving threats. 


Jacqueline Kernot is an experienced cyber security professional with more than two decades' experience across various verticals including Defence, Space, Intelligence, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Government, both here and in the UK and Europe.

She speaks regularly on diversity and inclusion, cyber security and risk and the intersection of new technologies with the human dimension of the technology industry and is a strong leader and speaker who is passionate about and committed to change in our industry and the workplace, to make work a better human experience. 

Lavanya Ramani is Lavanya is the Director of Engineering at Palo Alto Networks, and is the Leading Cloud controller for the Software Defined WAN service at Palo Alto Networks. She drives the Cloud controller roadmap, Strategizing for the business, development and organization growth while cutting overall infrastructure costs.
