WiT's Inspiration Series Presents - Inspiring Women in STEM Panel 

The WiT Inspiration Series invites you to join us for an inspiring morning!

Be inspired and motivated by the achievements and contributions our panel have made and how they are paving the way for women in STEM. These inspiring women will talk about their career journeys, the hurdles and challenges they have overcome and the foundations they have laid for a more diverse and flexible future for our STEM community.

Your ticket includes:

  • The opportunity to network with attendees 
  • Tea, coffee and a light breakfast snack will be served during networking
  • Inspiring insights from our Panel
  • Q&A time with our Panel

Timing:

  • 7:30am - 7:55am - Arrivals and networking
  • 8:00am - 9:00am - Welcome, panel and Q&A time
  • 9:00am - 9:30am - Networking for attendees who wish to stay after the panel

Your host and moderator

 

Iyari Cevallos has over 15 years of global experience managing unique and complex engagements in the resource, banking, telco, energy and tourism sectors. She has a proven record of delivery in operational performance, digital transformation change, governance and risk management in both the public and private sectors.

As a passionate leader in fast paced and evolving environments, she has been fundamental in influencing and leading positive change, contributing to a more equitable, just and sustainable society.

Meet your panel!

Jo Rocca, Software Engineer - Montu

Jo is a former English teacher, who taught herself to code and landed a job at a Blockchain Consultancy. She has since built several "dApp", or decentralised apps, using blockchain technologies such as cryptocurrency and NFTs. She currently is working in the medical sector as a Software Engineer and is involved in national and local communities promoting the advancement of women in blockchain and web3 through organisations such as the Digital Economy Council of Australia, formerly known as Blockchain Australia, and Women in Digital Economy.


Angela Lawry-Jones, Senior Consultant - bdna

Angela is a Registered Nurse currently practising in the scope of Digital Health. With over 25 years of experience in the health sector, she has worked on digital projects in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Singapore. Angela takes pride in supporting innovation initiatives to optimise patient safety and provide great experiences for both the patient and care, provider.

Committed to ongoing professional learning, she maintains a broad knowledge of the processes, challenges, and priorities of the health sector. Possessing strong skills in relationship development and management, Angela builds positive relationships that allow her to understand and address client concerns and work towards positive outcomes.


Kellie King, Women in Computing Program - The University of Queensland

Kellie is a global leader working in Hong Kong and the United States for most of her career and known for delivering strategic business solutions to organisations. She is a 2022 Women in IT Award winner and was highly commended in the 2019 ARN Entrepreneur of the Year awards for her outstanding work in technology.

Currently, Kellie is spearheading the Women in Computing program at the University of Queensland, aiming to inspire and increase the number of high school girls pursuing tech degrees. Her pioneering efforts in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have made her a trusted advisor on the transformative changes impacting companies today.

With a background in Lean Six Sigma and Agile methodologies, Kellie excels in optimising business processes through “systems thinking.” Her extensive experience in leading technology transformations is underpinned by a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida, USA, and credentials as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean Consultant.
