A word from the President

Oh what a night at the 18th annual WiT awards !

The 2015 WiT awards held last month were amazing. A sell-out event with 300+ guests, fantastic finalists, food, fashion and fireworks.

We want to sincerely thank our sponsors and judges for all of their support and effort - but mostly we congratulate the everyday efforts of the nominees, in particular the finalists and winners.

The awards will be back next year – bigger and better - with nominations opening in June 2016.

It’s never too early to start thinking about who you can nominate or your own application.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Queensland women shine bright in 2015 Women in Technology awards

Two new Advance Queensland funds open

Queensland women in technology and life sciences sparkled at the 18th annual Women in Technology Awards on Friday 28 August at the Royal International Convention Centre.

More than 300 people attended the prestigious awards to be inspired by Queensland’s talented women making a difference in technology and life sciences.

The awards, now in their 18th year, were a massive success with nominations up 50% across nine award categories.

Every year the awards grow – in status, nominations, support from sponsors and attendees.

The professionalism, intelligence and ambition of these women is just extraordinary. From pioneering lifesaving medical research, developing vaccines and medicines, to driving global conservation and running successful and innovative businesses these women are leading the way in technology and life sciences.

The judges had the challenging job of selecting just nine winners from 30 amazing finalists.
