The WiT Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution and achievements of Queensland women working in all fields of science and technology who can demonstrate a significant contribution to our State’s knowledge, economy and community. TECHNOLOGY AWARDS

Emerging Achiever - Technology

 

Eligibility:

• Emerging female Technologist at the start of their career making a significant contribution to their team and organisation
• Less than 3 years' experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to the Queensland technology industry

Prizes:

• Trophy
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid 12 months)
  
• One year individual WiT membership 

Rising Star - Technology

 

Eligibility:

• Rising female Technologist growing in their career making a significant contribution to the growth and development of their teams and organisation
• 3–10 years’ experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to the Queensland technology industry

Prizes:

• Trophy
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership 

Leadership Professional - Technology

Eligibility:

• Female Professional Technologist in a leadership position making a significant contribution to the growth and development of their teams and organisation
• 10-20 years’ experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to the Queensland technology industry

Prizes:

• Trophy
• Complimentary WiT Board Readiness Program participation valued at $1600
• One year individual WiT membership
  

Outstanding Achievement - Technology

Eligibility:

• Outstanding female Technologist in a high-level management position (eg CIO, CTO, CDO) making an outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Queensland's technology industry
• 20 years or more experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to the Queensland technology industry

Prizes:

• Trophy 
• Perpetual Trophy
• Named WiT Technology Ambassador
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership 

SCIENCE AWARDS 

Emerging Achiever - Science

 

Eligibility:

• Emerging female Scientist making a recognised contribution in science research and development either through their own organisation or other activities
• Pre-award (final year or awaiting award of PhD)
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to science in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership

Rising Star - Science

 

Eligibility: 

• Rising female Scientist making a recognised contribution in science research and development either through their own organisation or other activities
• Less than 7 years postdoctoral experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to science in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy 
• $500 credit towards WiT events/Programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership

Research Leader - Science

 

Eligibility:

• Female Research Leader across Academia, Clinical and Industry making a recognised contribution in science research and development either through their own organisation or other activities
• 7-15 years postdoctoral experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to science in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy
• Complimentary WiT Board Readiness Program participation valued at over $1600
• One year individual WiT membership 

Outstanding Achievement - Science

Eligibility:

• Outstanding female Scientist across Academia, Clinical and Industry making an outstanding contribution to the growth and development of science
• More than 15 years’ experience
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to science in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy
• Perpetual Trophy
  
• Named WiT Sciences Ambassador
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership 

Advancing Science Professional

 

Eligibility:

• Female professionals across all industries and career levels advocating/championing for science and growth & development of the science community
• Applicant does not need to reside in Queensland, but must demonstrate significant contribution to science in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership

Corporate

 

Eligibility:  

• Organisations with more than 200 employees 
• Organisations demonstrating outstanding commitment to providing a working environment that embraces equal opportunity, diversity and flexibility in work practices and programs that enable women and men to participate equally in the workforce. 
• The organisation may have its head office outside of Queensland, but must be able to demonstrate a significant contribution to employment in Queensland science and technology industries

Prizes:

• Trophy
• One year WiT corporate membership 

Small Business  

Eligibility:

• Small and medium enterprises with less than 200 employees 
• Organisation demonstrating outstanding commitment to providing a working environment that embraces equal opportunity, diversity and flexibility in work practices and programs that enable women and men to participate equally in the workforce.
• The organisation may have its head office outside of Queensland, but must be able to demonstrate a significant contribution to employment in Queensland science and technology industries

SUE WICKENDEN  AWARD

Sue Wickenden Excellence in STEM

 

Eligibility:

• Female demonstrating excellence in creativity and innovation across all STEM fields for the benefit of Queensland's STEM economy and community
• Applicant must reside in Queensland and demonstrate significant contribution to STEM in Queensland

Prizes:

• Trophy 
• $500 credit towards WiT events/programs (valid for 12 months)
• One year individual WiT membership

  

REGIONAL AWARD

Rural, Regional & Remote Award

Eligibility:

• Female living, working or volunteering in regional, rural & remote Queensland (beyond the Greater Brisbane Area)
• Using science or technology to benefit their organisation and/or industry
• Applicant must reside in Queensland
