Sam is a dynamic, driven and highly energetic executive with extensive experience in sales, marketing, customer service, public relations, media, legal and human resources.

Sam has recently been appointed as the Director of Strategy and Innovation for Optus Business. In this newly created role Sam’s passion and energy will be focused in creating new innovative partnerships between Optus and its customers.

For the past 4 years Sam has been Optus State Director for Queensland, managing all Optus Business customers in the region, as well as corporate affairs and government relations. A crucial area of focus for Sam is Optus’ enterprise and government customers, which include prominent organisations such as Flight Centre, Suncorp, Virgin Australia, Queensland Health, City of Gold Coast and Brisbane City Council and the Public Safety Business agency. Before joining Optus, Sam spent nine years with a large telecommunications company in a variety of legal, strategy and management roles.

Sam’s career to date has highlighted her skills as a natural leader and excellent communicator, and her ability to exceed expectations. She also has strong public speaking and advocacy capabilities. In 2011, Sam won the International Women’s Day Commemorative Award for Exceptional Leadership.

Sam is married to ABC Radio Broadcaster Matt Webber and has two beautiful children Daisy (8) and Peggy (6).
