WiT are partnering with Queensland Urban Utilities – Scientific Analytical Services Laboratory to bring you a special event for UN World Water Day (WWD) 2016.
UNESCO celebrates 50 years of the International Hydrological Program (IHP) which has improved humanity’s access to potable and agricultural water and protected this vital resource. Building on the 2015 WWD theme of "Water for Sustainable Development", this year’s theme is "Water and Jobs".
Australia has experienced its share of drought, fire and floods and our decades long “heat wave” brings into sharp focus the issue of Water Security – central to the current IHP globally and UNESCO’s 50th anniversary publication ("Water, People & Co-operation") released at the Paris Climate Meetings in Dec’15.
Register for our tour of the SAS laboratory and hear how SAS secures our Water Security with presentations from QUU-SAS staff:
Louise Dudley, CEO of QUU and its Women in Leadership program
Fiona Irwin, Client Liaison Officer "SAS Activities"
Christine Garden, Human Resources Business Partner "Careers in the Water industry"
Keynote Speaker, Donnell Davis - Donnell brings 20 years of policy direction, education, and advocacy in sustainable water practice to her presentation, covering the Ethical Water Futures, role Model International Women who lead the way, and the Pathways to Careers.
