Women in Technology celebrate their 21st birthday this year and 2018 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for Women in Technology.  The hardwork of the previous 20 years has seen continuing improvement in the strength of the organisation.  With increasing membership & sponsorship WiT is able, more now than in previous years, to provide members with greater opportunities, programs & support.

Investment back into the organisation in 2018 will be strong with huge benefits to our members.

We strongly encourage you to come along to our AGM whether you are a current member, new to the organisation or considering membership.  The AGM and networking drinks & canapes is a great opportunity to meet new contacts or spend quality time with friends, colleagues & fellow members who are always keen to share ideas, challenges, expertise and business cards.

Networking is both fun and important - you never know when that accidental conversation could solve your problem, change your business or open up a new opportunity!

We are also very proud to have Professor Katherine Andrews and Faith Rees presenting at our AGM.

Professor Andrews is an expert in malaria drug discovery - from early stage screening to pre-clinical testing and has published >80 papers, supervised >20 PhD/Honours students to completion and secured significant research grant funding.  Kathy been recognized for her research achievements, leadership skills and strategic thinking through several awards including the 2017 Queensland Women in Technology Life Science Research Leader award. She has served as a national director of the ASMR and on the Australian Society for Parasitology council.  Kathy is founder and Director of the That's RAD! Science project which aims to inspire in children a love of STEM. She is the author of the first children’s picture book in the That’s RAD! Science series.

Faith Rees is winner of our 2017 Start Up Entrepreneurial Award and has extensive experience with the software development lifecycle, with focus on IT organisations, but generally covering a wide range of private, public and franchised entities - from SME’s to global corporations such as Microsoft.  Her adaptability and commitment as well as exceptional communication skills has seen her succeed in a number of different organisational roles – from sales and marketing, strategic HR consulting, IT vendor channel management and partner development to Executive and Board positions.  Faith is the Co-Founder of SixPivot and Cloud Ctrl and is a non executive chair of Dilignet and also serves on a number of advisory boards for companies such as Diverse City Careers and was formerly the Chair of IT Queensland.  Faith has an exceptional ability to network and build strategic relationships as well as work as part of a strategic team.
