Dr Joel Gilmore is a physicist and energy expert, providing advice to industry and government on transitioning Australia to a low emissions future. He's also a passionate science communicator and performer, including co-host of Food Lab on SBS where he talks about the science and technology of cooking. In his spare time, he teaches swing dancing, learns musical instruments and travels the world - 54 countries so far!
Leanne Kemp is Founder & CEO of Everledger. Using her extensive background in emerging technologies, business, jewellery and insurance, through Everledger Leanne is pushing boundaries to address real-world challenges.
Using blockchain technology, Everledger is driving transparency and trust along global supply chains to ensure the provenance of valuable assets. With a rich history in innovation, Leanne previously founded three Australian startups including Absoft Queensland, Fastcards Pty Ltd and the Great Australian Survey Company. Through these companies Leanne introduced and patented transformational technology ideas.
Leanne's entrepreneurial success has led to her appointment as the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur for 2019 and 2020, a role to further develop the startup ecosystem, attract investment and support job creation throughout the State of Queensland. She is the first female entrepreneur to hold the position and the first person to be appointed for a 2 year tenure.
Leanne is an appointed member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Blockchain Business Council and Co-Chair for the World Trade Board's Sustainable Trade Action Group. She is also on the IBM Blockchain Platform Board of Advisors and was the only Australian to co-chair sessions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2019.
