Most of us have a clear idea of the kind of lifestyle we would like to lead - from purchasing a home to taking that dream holiday, however our financial situation may not always support our vision. It is important to understand the financial path you’re on, what your destination might be and what options there are available to make the most out of your journey.  It is also important to consider the differences experienced by women around financial independence and security so you can plan around these factors.  Did you know:

• Women currently retire with 47% less superannuation than men
• Women live five years longer than men on average
• Women only receive 1/3 of government tax concessions on super (men receive the other 2/3)
• 44% of women rely on their partners income as the main source of funds for retirement
• 8.5% of women between 65 and 74 still have a mortgage
