Overview

An introductory course on effective Board communications for those who are reporting to Boards currently or expected to report to a Board within the next 12-18months. This is a 3-hour interactive workshop with dinner provided in which we will discuss: 

• What Boards do, their power and influence 
• Board interests and dynamics
• Tailoring – why it is an on-going process
• The importance of both written and oral material for Boards & Committees
• The reasoning behind why some Executives spend insufficient time on their Board communications and others too much

Who Should Attend

Technology Leaders who are currently reporting to Boards or expect to within the next 12-18 months; or have at least 10 years’ leadership experience that are:

• Looking to sharpen their leadership and communication skills in delivering content to the Board and/or Committees
• Currently writing or significantly contributing to Board reports
• Asked to present or respond to Boards and/or Committees but are unsure if their communications are effective
• Presenting to C-suite today and expect to present to Boards in the future

Your Presenter

Helen Henderson (GAICD) has provided counsel on strategic communications for over 20 years to CEOs and senior management at listed and private companies through to small NFPs. Qualified with a Bachelor of Economics and an MBA coupled with her extensive experience in corporate transformations, she specializes in the provision of strategic communications counsel, the development and facilitation of bespoke Leadership Team workshops and senior executive communications training programs - with a commercial focus that delivers results.

Based on client demand, Helen established Board Impact, to bridge the gap in understanding between IT executives and Boards. Working in consultation with Board directors and in partnership with a range of experts from a variety of fields, she draws on the latest industry thinking to maintain high standards of professional development training and on-going business relevance.
