The Women in Technology (WIT) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an important opportunity for members and community to hear from WIT’s Board and Management on our performance, outlook and strategy and ask questions.

This year’s AGM will be held on Wednesday 28 May 2025, commencing at 5.30pm. It will be conducted as a hybrid meeting, enabling members to attend either in person or virtually.

With Guest Speaker Amena Khatun

Amena is a Research Scientist at CSIRO’s Data61, specialising in quantum machine learning (QML) algorithm development to solve complex, real-world challenges across sectors such as defence, intelligence, healthcare and cybersecurity.

Her work lies at the intersection of traditional AI and next-generation quantum AI, with deep expertise in quantum transfer learning, quantum generative models, and quantum adversarial machine learning.

Amena completed her PhD in AI & Vision Technologies from QUT in 2021 and has since been dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI. Her passion lies in building innovative and impactful solutions that leverage the unique power of quantum computing to go beyond classical limits.

Formalities

Voting will be conducted on the night for both members who attend in person and members who attend virtually. The Notice of Meeting gives details of the business that is to be conducted, which is available here.
