You are invited to the second ICT City Breakfast for 2014 with guest speaker Jodi Schmidt, CEO of TAFE Queensland.
Jodi was appointed as the first CEO of the newly created TAFE Qld statutory body. TAFE Qld was created in legislation on 1 July 2013 as a parent body to drive the strategic direction for all TAFE delivery in Queensland. In her role Jodi will continue to lead reform of TAFE in Queensland commenced in her former role of Deputy Director-General, Training & Employment in the Department of Education, Training & Employment.
Throughout her career in the vocational education & training sector, she has shown a strong commitment to VET in Queensland at both the TAFE institute & corporate level.
She joined the VET sector late 2005 as Director at Southbank Institute of Technology during which she led development & implementation of the new statutory institute model to provide a greater commercial focus and was integral in the Institute becoming a specialist in delivery of higher level certificate & diploma programs.
Since 2010, Jodi has held various roles within the Department of Education, Training & Employment leading implementation of initiatives to align the training & higher education sectors & helped shaped the current reform of the state’s public provider through her work with Queensland Skills & Training Taskforce.
Jodie has also held various senior positions in both Australia & the UK in health, local government & private sector in finance, marketing and corporate services.
