Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking an experienced Web Developer.

Accelerate your IT career by delivering and supporting web applications for a major Australian university. You will be a key player in facilitating the creation of new or improved applications and interfaces that will support a collaborative, connected and engaging web experience. In this role, you’ll be supported to use your strong technical expertise and leadership experience to autonomously drive interesting, engaging initiatives and projects that harness ideas across different stakeholders. You will engage directly with key stakeholders across disciplines to identify and conceptualise client requirements, design solutions and improvement strategies and implement your ideas. This is a diverse role focused on implementing improvements to applications/interfaces and supporting maintenance activities. Your opportunity includes: • This is an ongoing position, enabling you to make a long-term impact in supporting the University’s web development. • As a large university at the forefront of innovation in technology, you’ll work across a wide range of web platforms using web programming languages including: Java, Spring, Angular, React, software applications, content management systems (e.g. Liferay, Squiz Matrix, WordPress) and cloud technologies. • You will expand on your strong technical and leadership capabilities by driving interesting initiatives that harness ideas across IT teams and stakeholders within Faculties, Institutions and industry. About Digital Business Solutions Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services. DBS is responsible for a wide range of services in delivering and supporting digital solutions for QUT. DBS comprises seven business units with dynamic knowledge and expertise that work collectively with the University’s Faculties, Institutes and Divisions to provide quality Digital Solutions and Services in support of both QUT’s Strategic Objectives and in core operations for learning and teaching, research and innovation and professional services.

What you need to succeed

• Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree and extensive relevant experience in web design within an information technology area. • Demonstrated experience in contributing as a technical expert as part of a team and implementing improvement strategies that support effective response to client needs, and achievement of organisation goals. • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in identifying and conceptualising client requirements, designing and developing solutions, and deploying and implementing solutions using contemporary technologies. • Demonstrated ability to maintain productive and collaborative working relationships, including the ability to develop and present concepts and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders. • Proven planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing own and workflow priorities, and working across a diverse number of initiatives within competing timelines. • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in maintaining and supporting corporate web applications with an understanding of the concepts of web architecture and the development of ICT systems focused on solving business needs in a strategic manner.
